Homeschool

Homeschool classes are held seasonally as a series, see “Conservation Club” on our Public Programs Page. Each program is 1.5 hours long. Parents may drop off, but are free to stay for the program or on our property.

Homeschool students and those looking for extra enrichment opportunities, are invited to join Flat Rock Brook Naturalists as we explore the natural world in these outdoor programs. Each session will feature hands-on/minds-on exploration perfect for a budding to intermediate naturalist. Meet other home school families while kids strengthen their knowledge and appreciation for the environment. Explore the many eco-systems of FRB including wetland, forest, pond, stream, and meadow.

Homeschoolers are always welcome at our “Break at the Brook” school break camp sessions as well. Based on the local school calendars, our pop-up camp sessions run from 9:00 to 3:30. The day starts and ends at our Nature Center building but most of the day is spent in the great outdoors with hands-on and experimental learning!

Students should wear appropriate outdoor gear, sturdy, closed-toe footwear, and masks. Please no hand-held devices. The programs will take place outdoors (rain or shine). During severe weather program will beheld indoors. In the event of blizzard or hurricane classes will be rescheduled.
