Quarry Pond Patio

Pond Study 2

Quarry Pond Patio Restoration

We are excited to begin restoration on our Quarry Pond patio.  We will be replacing our worn concrete slab with new bluestone, a retaining wall, native plantings and seating.  The most exciting part of our restoration is a 12' retractable awning that will provide ample shade for our 2019 summer junior scientists studying pond ecology.  It will provide a much needed respite from the heat of the summer sum while conducting water quality testing and review of aquatic organisms.

This multi-purpose space will be available for the enjoyment of all of our visitors and is being developed to meet ADA standards.

We have received a generous $7,500 matching grant from the Bergen County Open Space Trust Fund and have successfully raised the matching funds necessary to break ground on this project.

We will complete the restoration Summer 2019.  Come visit!
