Flat Rock Brook Welcomes New Education Director

rachel

Rachel McGovern joins Flat Rock Brook as the Director of Education. Her enthusiasm for the natural world led her into a career as a naturalist through which she focused on connecting children to the environment. She most previously served as the Director of Education for Valley Crest Farm & Preserve in Lebanon, NJ. Rachel earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University where she studied Human Ecology and spent a year as an AmeriCorps Watershed Ambassador serving the Millstone River Watershed. Her love of environmental education was realized through the Watershed Ambassador Program, inspiring Rachel to work in the field.

Rachel enjoys hiking, camping, birding and spending time with friends, family and her dog, Libby. An avid music fan, she also enjoys attending concerts by her favorite artists. She is excited to work at Flat Rock Brook and explore the trails at the preserve.
