Bridges to Flat Rock Brook Receives $11,262

Flat Rock Brook has received a Community Development Block Grant award for $11,262 from the County of Bergen. This grant provides continuing funding support for the Bridges to Flat Rock Brook program. The project involves Englewood Public School District students from Kindergarten, 2nd and 5th Grades taking a field trip to our 150 acre preserve. Our educators provide outreach lessons for students at their schools and for 7th graders at the Janis E. Dismus School. We also include programming in the same grades for students of the Englewood on the Palisades Charter School as part of the grant agreement. The grant support provides all the necessary supplies, bussing and staff time to implement the initiative at no cost to the partnering school districts. This is the 10th year Bergen County has funded the Bridges to Flat Rock Brook initiative, and we look forward to delivering another successful program for Englewood youth for the 2017/18 school year.
